چکیده
A clean and defect-free substrate/coating interface is required to guarantee good adhesion of coatings under service conditions. For this purpose, an etching pre-treatment using High-Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HiPIMS) was performed modify the surface 304L stainless steel. The effect three procedures on substrate properties, such as corrosion resistance adhesion, investigated with unprecedented spatial resolution spectroscopic details. Glancing angle X-ray diffraction showed modification in phase content but no neoformation after steel etching. photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed presence etchant species (6–7 at.%) extreme substrate. Transmission Electron Microscopy Atomic Probe Tomography that less than a few nanometers wide. Polarization curves nitric acid solution at boiling temperature showed, for first time, Ti+ Zr+ etchings decreased current density compared untreated original surface. Scratch-test measurements indicated better HiPIMS metal ion Electrochemical characterization revealed Zr thin coating improve anti-corrosion properties strong

Effects of Surface Treatment on Corrosion Resistance of 304L and 316L Stainless Steel Implants in Hank’s Solution
The enormous demands for metal implant have given rise to a search for cheap material with good bio-tolerability and resistance to corrosion. Although stainless steel has these properties and is widely used for this purpose, its long term application is still a concern. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel depends on the passive layer. Herein, chemical surface treatment, including passiv...
متن کاملRelaxation Peaks of Cold Worked 304l Stainless Steel
In this investigation internal friction of cold worked 304L austenitic stainless steel was measured and the new peaks (PlIP2,P3) were found. The height of those peaks increased with cold work degree. The temperature of the main peak P3 was 33513340K at the frequency of -1,000Hz. The activation energies and frequency factors were obtained from peak shift. The values were 0.4evl 0.4evl 0.6ev and ...
متن کاملSurface characterization of austenitic stainless steel 304L after different grinding operations
Background: The austenitic stainless steel 304L is widely used as a structural material for which the finished surface has significant effect on the service performance. A study of the grinding process with regard to the quality of the ground surfaces is therefore interesting from the point of view of both industrial application and scientific research. Method: This work investigates the influe...
متن کاملWarm Pre-Strain: Strengthening the Metastable 304L Austenitic Stainless Steel without Compromising Its Hydrogen Embrittlement Resistance
Plastic pre-strains were applied to the metastable 304L austenitic stainless steel at both room temperature (20 °C) and higher temperatures (i.e., 50, 80 and 100 °C), and then the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) susceptibility of the steel was evaluated by cathodically hydrogen-charging and tensile testing. The 20 °C pre-strain greatly strengthened the steel, but simultaneously significantly increa...
